Bible Study

We meet each Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. as we work our way through a book of the Bible one section at a time. The studies begin in the Fall and run throughout the Spring. The studies are based on the series, _Engaging God's Word_, published by CBS. It uses a four-part method: 1) Personal Study, 2) A group discussion guided by a leader, 3) a lecture covering the material, and 4) a written commentary to review and clarify.

The goal of the group is to become a organized Community Bible Study (CBS). CBS is non-denominational, with the leadership of each class coming from the local area and representing a broad cross section of the Christian community. CBS leaders are volunteers, called by God, who love the Lord and His Word.

CBS makes every effort to stand in the center of mainstream, historic Christianity. We concentrate on the essentials of the Christian faith, not on denominational distinctives. As we grow in our love and respect for one another, we learn that Christians can hold differing views on matters that are not essential to salvation. Regardless of these differences, we learn to love and care for each other as we grow in our knowledge of the Bible and in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
